Marilyn was a dear friend, an accomplished musician, a successful author, and a person of profound spirituality.

Marilyn was a well-known violinist in New York City for over 30 years, performing with many orchestras including the Opera Orchestra of New York, American Ballet Theatre, Queens Symphony, American Symphony and on Broadway.

A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, she was a sought-after teacher at the School for Strings, Long Island University and Montclair State University among others. Marilyn was active in chamber music performances with the Herrick Trio. She wrote the book, "Hanging by a String," chronicling her life, her battle with lupus, and the spirituality that sustained her for many years.

Rest in peace, Marilyn.

I am just finding out about my friend's death. Not living in the Richmond area I have missed a lot of information. I remember how Marilyn became one of my first friends upon moving to HHS and Richmond in 1968. I remember her as lovely, my CACT sorority sister, daily lunch buddy, and a talented musician. Marilyn is missed.

I sit here and can't believe that Marilyn is no longer with us. We lived in the same neighborhood and both went to New York but our paths crossed maybe twice. My prayers and thoughts are with her and her family.
